Raised on an island in the Mississippi near La Crosse, Wisconsin, my connection to nature has always been profound and deeply personal. This unique upbringing has significantly influenced my artistic journey, allowing me to see the world through a lens of natural beauty and serenity.

With a BS in Biology from UW-LaCrosse and minors in Media Production and Photography, my educational background has been a blend of science and art. This combination has fueled my curiosity and honed my ability to observe and capture the intricate details of life around us. My early career as a staff photographer and production artist laid the foundation for my exploration into digital art, where I began to merge traditional photography with digital techniques.
My creative journey started with showcasing local landscape work in 1980, followed by solo and group exhibitions and commissioned projects. Over the decades, I carved a niche for myself as an in-house creative for the Outdoor Retail Industry, earning national awards and recognition for my work in advertising, marketing, and visual merchandising. These experiences have enriched my artistic vision, blending commercial precision with artistic freedom.
Currently, through my digital media studio, MeanPony Productions, I cover local and regional live music shows and festivals. We create independent media content, live music photos, videos, and live streams for both local and touring artists. This work captures the vibrant energy and emotion of live performances, preserving these moments for artists and fans alike. Additionally, we produce collectible fine art prints, primarily landscapes from the states and regions we’ve called home.
In my digital art, I draw inspiration from the natural world, human connections in the digital age, and the essence of identity. I use a variety of digital tools and techniques to create pieces that reflect the resilience of nature, the complexity of human emotions, and the dynamic interplay between reality and imagination. Each artwork is a journey, a story told through the manipulation of light, color, and form.
As technology continues to evolve, so does my art. I am fascinated by the ever-changing relationship between humanity and technology, a theme that is often evident in my work. My goal is to provoke thought, evoke emotion, and spark conversations about the intricate tapestry of our existence.
