This short by film-maker, James Kleinert; Moving Cloud Productions and with a PA credit for Steven Wittenberg; MeanPony Productions is currently a special feature included with the HBO.com site for their documentary series --- "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee"
Here is a partial panorama, about 270 degrees (HFOV) with interactive VR user controls.
This view is of Historic Main Street in Park City, Utah; from the NW corner of Heber Ave. and Main St.
This method involves stitching together a sequence of digital photos with CS3 (Photoshop photo merge)
The resulting image file is processed with Pano2VR software and output as a Flash file.
Drag your cursor over the VR controls -- bottom & center. The user controls will pop-up or use "arrow" keys to navigate, "shift" key to zoom in, "control" or "alt" key to zoom out.
This file has an "autorotate" feature; you can turn it off with on/off control, 2nd from right.
The symbol/button on the far right will enable "full screen" viewing; use "esc" key to return to web page.
"VR" or "Virtual Reality" encompasses a wide range of new technologies that offer the viewer an experience they participate in. Onscreen, people see a first person perspective because they have the ability to control their point of view. VR engages us with interactivity, and invites us to be active in the experience, as if we are really there.
